With students’ safety in my mind, ABC need to implement the NW motto, “See Something Say Something.”
Students need to feel safe to make sure they achieve their full potential.
I’ve worked with my neighbors and my community with Neighborhood Watch (NW) for many years. Through that time NW grew exponentially in my community. I implemented a Captains group to communicate between neighborhoods, help neighborhoods without a NW to establish their own NW groups, and together we made our community safer.
Student safety is one thing ABC needs to take a look to make sure students succeed. Some areas that need to be looked at are: bullying and cyberbullying, mental health, threat assessment, school security, physical security, school climate, and disaster assessment.
See Something Say Something should be part of all schools’ safety plan.
